These tow mirrors are made to replace your existing Ford Ranger side mirrors; permanently providing a better view of the road and surroundings. If you are hauling a wide load these become essential and easily slide out to a full length of 560mm so you and park and drive confidently, unhindered by blind spots.
The large mirror surface gives a clear line of sight all the way down the side of your Ranger and tow vehicle, and a smaller mirror helps knock out any other blind spots by extending the angle of view.
This Ranger specific design makes a solid connection between the mirror and bodywork for minimal vibration, especially compared to lightweight strap-on mirrors. The mirror casing is of a solid design, seem well made and with strong hinges they won't fold-up against high air pressure, but they will fold on forward or reverse impact; reducing the risk of damage.
DIY installtion is straightforward (we do advise keeping original screws and retaining mirrors, for when you no loger tow or for the resale of your vehicle). Tools required include Alan keys, small and medium flat head screwdriver, medium Phillips screwdriver. It is possible to install these without removing the door card.

If you tow a vehicle that is wider than the towing unit there is a legal requirement to have a mirror that removes blind spots. You must be able to see a full 4m out from the side of the tow vehicle to a distance of 20m behind the driver. The UK's .Gov website says "Fit suitable towing mirrors if your trailer or caravan is wider than the rear of your car. You can be fined up to £1,000 and get 3 penalty points for towing without proper towing mirrors". Ofcourse, if you damage your tow vehicle or cause an accident because of a blind spot the personal costs could be a lot higher.

There aren't many options on the UK market for a fixed towing mirror for the popular Ford Ranger so this product seems to be as good as it gets. The construction feels solid, connectors adequate, electric mirrors work well and hold their position. There is a little vibration but not enough for it to be a problem on long journeys. There are no instructions included but you may find videos on the internet to help.
